Communications & Technology Newsletters When considering improving a church newsletter, think of three factors -- content, writing and design. All three are important. Well-written items in a well-designed newsletter don't mean much if the content itself is not interesting (to the reader). Even the best design won't hold readers' interest for long is the material is poorly written or just plain boring. And a poor design can lessen the number of people who read the newsletter, even if the material is well-written and pertinent. Here are some tips to get you started in improving your church newsletter: Newsletters - Content (Word doc) Newsletters - Design - the Three Cs (Word doc) Newsletter design & layout tips (Word doc) Newsletters - Desktop Publishing Tips (Word doc) Newsletters - Writing (Word doc) The United Methodist News Service (UMNS) provides several helps for newsletters and Web sites.
