Helping Others
Good Christian stewards generously and selflessly help others.
"Am I my brother's keeper?" — Gen 4:9
"...whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." — Matthew 25:40 [NIV]
Directly helping other people is different than supporting and promoting causes that will benefit others. Promoting social justice helps groups of people, for example, but is rarely focused on a single person. But individual people need help too. You may think of these people as being in "groups", but each person has individual, unique needs too.
Some of these groups of individual people in need of help are:
- The young
- The sick
- The mentally ill
- The elderly
- The handicapped
- The poor
You can use your time and talents to help others in many general ways too, including caring for God's earth and promoting social justice.
