The Persons:

A United Methodist missionary family

David and Lorene ("Lori") Persons are United Methodist missionaries at Mulungwishi Station in the Democratic Republic of Congo and also Zambia, Africa.  David's father was a missionary.  Lori's father was a missionary at Mulungwishi for 40 years.  You could say missionary work is in their blood.  They work through the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries.

David is Dean of the Mulungwishi Theological Seminary (Faculte Methodiste de Theologie) at The University of Katanga at Mulungwishi.

Lori is director of the Doris Bartlett Women's School, which provides training for the wives of seminary students.

You can support Seminary students at Mulungwishi by sending donations.

Please avoid mailing packages to the Persons in Africa.  It's hard for them to reliably receive such packages across country borders there.  Instead, support them with funds, especially to help seminary students.

Lori says that current needs are for lots of sewing items, such as needles, pins, and embroidery thread.  Please avoid sending heavy items, as they have a weight limit for air travel return to Mulungwishi.  Each box they take costs about $140 in shipping and they are limited as to total weight/boxes.  Another need is baby items: soft nightgowns, cloth diapers, and rubber pants.
